Celebrating Community, Regenerative Agriculture, and Growing Services

I am thrilled to share the inspiring weekendI had at the NOFA-VT Winter Conference, where small organic farmers gathered to share knowledge, learn from each other, and celebrate the importance of regenerative agriculture.

The conference was graced by the presence of Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin, a visionary in regenerative agriculture and the founder of Tree-Range Farms and Regenerative Agriculture Alliance. His heartfelt keynote speech resonated deeply with our mission and renewed our commitment to sustainable farming.

At Small Step Farm, located in the heart of Roxbury, we are embracing a renewed excitement for the upcoming winter growing season. Yes, it sounds crazy, but we are now planning NEXT winter! Our dedication to regenerative agriculture and sustainable practices is unwavering, and winter growing is what we are stepping into, and is much needed in VT.

We are also, of course, fully embracing the longer sunnier days.  As we look ahead to the summer, our farm will be buzzing with projects that reflect our deep-rooted commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being. The third high tunnel, our first heated greenhouse, and a wash station - - it is the year of infrastructure, soil building and feeding community.  This summer we are dedicated to tending our expanded edible perennials, growing vegetables for fresh, storage crops, and value-added jarred and frozen foods. Additionally, we will be raising chickens - all with the goal of enhancing our self-sustainability and contributing to our community's food resiliency.

Amidst this planning we are fully immersed in grant writing and seeding. As much as I miss the summer months, I cherish these slower days to allow space for creating the services that Asa and I are both passionate about.

In addition to our farming endeavors, we are excited to share that both Asa and I are now taking new clients virtually and in person at our office in Montpelier, VT. Asa is a licensed clinical mental health counselor, offering holistic mental health services, while I am a Regenerative Health Practitioner, holistic nutritionist, and lifestyle coach. Our growing professions and services in holistic nutrition and mental health beautifully weave together with our commitment to sustainable farming, creating a harmonious tapestry of well-being for our community.

Please reach out anytime. Spread the word widely about my upcoming group program Nourish and Flourish - find details here: Nourish and Flourish. This begins Mid March. You can also find Asa and his direct contact information here: Asa Twombly.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey towards sustainable farming and community resilience. Together, we are sowing the seeds of a brighter, more sustainable future.
